Born from Tenet Healthcare, Conifer Health Solutions was founded in 2008. From the start, our primary focus has been to help hospital and health systems improve revenue cycle performance and their interactions with patients-from scheduling to post-discharge outreach.
As the industry began to evolve, we quickly realized that healthcare reform would transform how providers deliver care, while raising the expectations of patients and consumers for a better healthcare experience. We knew that our knowledge and passion could help guide many different clients to thrive and compete within their defined market, helping them achieve optimal financial and clinical performance in both risk-based and fee-for service payment models, expand their integrated delivery network, and seamlessly manage the full spectrum of revenue cycle and health plan administrative services.
In 2012, Conifer Health announced a strategic partnership with Catholic Health Initiatives. This landmark occasion afforded Conifer Health an opportunity to form an independent board of directors, thus laying the foundation for the company we are today. It was also in 2012 that we took another natural step to support our vision for healthcare transformation: we acquired Dell Revenue Cycle Solutions and InforMed Health Care Solutions. Both acquisitions were attributed to Conifer Health’s significant growth and vision to be the leading sole-source provider of healthcare solutions in Revenue Cycle Management, Value-Based Care and Population Health Management.
We combined InforMed with Cap Management Systems, a California-based company, to form Conifer Health’s Value-Based Care business unit. Cap Management’s focus on helping hospitals and independent physician groups develop and manage unique financial risk and clinical integration, combined with InforMed’s expertise with population health management services where they have assisted more than 150 self-insured organizations and government and community health plans better manage their patient and consumer populations. The result is a fast growing business unit offering providers and other industry stakeholders more than 30 years of experience in navigating the essentials of an emerging fee-for-value marketplace.
Conifer Health acquired Illinois-based SPi Healthcare in 2014. This acquisition enhanced Conifer Health’s already expansive services portfolio, adding innovative physician revenue cycle management (RCM) and healthcare information management (HIM) services and software solutions for physician practices and independent practice associations (IPAs). The physician services market presents tremendous growth opportunities for Conifer Health and helps solidify our position as a sole-source service provider of healthcare solutions.
