Matthew Bayley, M.D.

Group President

As Group President, Matt is accountable for the overall leadership and management of the Physician Revenue Cycle Management and Value-Based Care business units, and the evaluation and development of new businesses within the Conifer portfolio.  He leverages his unique perspective as a clinician to collaborate with clients to provide a foundation for better health.  A seasoned leader in revenue cycle and hospital management, he brings a proven ability to strengthen organizations, drive strategy execution, streamline operations, and capture untapped opportunities for growth.

Trained first as a physician and patient advocate, Matt became steeped in operations, business process improvement, and value accretion across the healthcare value chain as a Partner at McKinsey & Company. With a long track record of forging collaborative relationships with key partners, he came to Conifer from his most recent position as Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Bayley completed his internship training in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He earned an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. Matt also holds an MBA degree from The Wharton School, where he was a Palmer Scholar. He graduated with honors, majoring in both healthcare management and finance. Additionally, he earned a B.S. with distinction in commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
